Retailers are looking to discount products on Singles’ Day on November 11th, the originally Chinese day of celebration that has gone global and now celebrates single people everywhere, allowing them to pamper themselves with great deals and offers from retailers. But which Single's Day products are the most popular in the UK?

Last Singles’ Day, most consumers in the UK wanted to buy new technology as a gift to themselves. The gold medal was claimed by televisions, where 14% of all products bought on Single’s Day last year were TV’s. The LG 43UM7500 was the most popular TV of all.

In second place came mobile phones as 9% of shoppers bought new phones this day, where Samsung came out on top amongst retailers. The most popular phone was the Samsung Galaxy S9 64GB released in 2018.

Tablets were the third most popular product last year, accounting for 5% of all products bought on Singles Day. The  Apple iPad 9.7" 32GB (6th Generation) was the most popular brand of tablets amongst UK consumers.

Although this Chinese tradition is not as big in the UK as in our other markets, we still expect to see good deals from several large retailers in the UK on November 11th. Last year, the most popular presents Brits bought themselves were personal technology, such as mobile phones, televisions and tablets, so retailers would be wise to discount these types of products next week.
